OpenAI, The Agency Fund, and the Center for Global Development are launching an AI for Global Development Accelerator in 2025, mobilizing diverse stakeholders to leverage AI for sustainable development and human agency on a global scale. The accelerator will run over the course of one year, with lightweight group activities and bespoke technical guidance for the participants.

Why was the AI for Global Development accelerator started?
The AI for Global Development accelerator was started to enable leading nonprofit organizations to build, test, and scale prototypes of AI-native global development interventions, leveraging AI’s potential to reduce costs and scale personalized solutions. The initiative aims to create flagship demonstrations of impactful AI applications while generating insights to advance the frontier of AI-for-impact in global development.
What do awardees get out of this accelerator?
$500k each, up to $100k OpenAI credits each, advisory from solution engineers at OpenAI, software engineering, data science, and behavioral science expertise from The Agency Fund & Project Tech4Dev, as well as policy advisory from Center for Global Development.
Will there be another cohort?
Yes, we hope to accelerate successful awardees even further as well as support new organizations.
